Google UX Visual Design Intern
From atap.google.com/spotlight-stories: “Google Spotlight Stories means storytelling for VR -- artists and technologists making immersive stories for mobile 360, mobile VR and room-scale VR headsets, and building the innovative tech that makes it possible.” I have worked as a UX visual design intern, contributing to different areas within the Spotlight Stories program, including support for development and production of new Spotlight Stories, YouTube presence (organic watch page content and promotional/advertising), marketing (graphics for mobile and desktop advertising), internal presentations (e.g. visual timeline for the Google Spotlight Stories Promotion Strategy for June through January, slides featuring Scot Stafford and Kevin Dart of Sonaria), external conferences (images for Siggraph website, posters), team collateral (Annie Award one-sheet prototypes, Son-of-Jaguar film one-sheet, t-shirt designs,) and improving the UX of the Story Editor tool used to create animated stories. I used the Wacom Cintiq graphics pen tablet for some of my designs. I prefer designing through natural hand and finger gestures rather than using a mouse (although I can do both). This is why I sought out the Wacom Cintiq, and I spent time on getting proficient at it. I shared my knowledge of the graphics pen tablet to train other designers and professionals within Google.
Google Shopping UXR Collateral
In addition to my core visual design work on Google Spotlight Stories, I also sought out and delivered on two 20% projects. One project was with the Shopping Express UX research team. I created collateral for the UER team for them to share tips and tricks for gathering user insights with their UER community. I developed concept and illustration artwork, formatting, and graphic design of the project. The final product is being used by Shopping Express UER team and it was also featured at the OTIS College of Art and Design.
